Серотонин - нейромедиатор, связанный с настроением, гибкостью и переключением внимания. Имеет отношение к проблемам депрессии, обсессивно-компульсивному расстройству, расстройствам питания, нарушениям сна и к ощущению боли.
Синапсы (или синаптические щели) - пространство между соседними нервными клетками, посредством которого окончание аксона одного нейрона сообщается с дендритом другого нейрона. Существует два типа синапсов: электрические и химические.
Теменные доли - верхняя задняя область больших полушарий мозга, задействованная в обработке сенсорной визуальной информации, зрительном восприятии движений и чувстве направления.
Центральная нервная система включает головной и спинной мозг.
